WIP of the 2nd chapter

Perched on my porch swing, I hear the wind whisper through barren trees waiting for my friend to meet me, but now she hasn’t been coming lately I feel like these banshee like moans from the crisp winter air has been warning me…

But thank god, I could see Maria in her orange & navy blue puffy jacket. she came this time just a little late, and with some drinks too! She walked up to the porch carefully. “Sorry I’m late, I was kinda busy. I should’ve told you earlier.” “No it’s fine, it’s not my business” I replied. She sat down by me and placed the drinks on the coffee table. I sipped a bit “is this like fruit tea or something?” “Oh it’s hot punch. do you like it?” “Well uh, yeah definitely!”

I sat down my cup and said “so what busy things have you been doing?” “O-Oh it’s nothing I had to clean my boots this time. but in general me and my family have been preparing for Christmas.”
”ahh I see.. I know how it feels it takes so much time just to decorate the tree by itself!” She laughed a bit but I realized she looked kinda nervous. “What’s wrong? you look kinda anxious”
Maria hesitated, fidgeting with her hands.
”it’s nothing just… don’t worry about it.” I was suspicious but I didn’t want to be too nosy so I kept quiet.

The next time, she didn’t come. and again didn’t tell me. I was even more confused, I had to know what was going on! so I went to the other side of the woods and called out her name. Still… I said to myself “that’s it I’m looking for her myself!”
So there I went, through the dry field of grass and into her neighborhood. I remembered her house by the wreath with candles on it on her house and navigated through finally to her house. I knocked on the door worried. A tall woman with long curly bronze hair opened the door “sigh… Ich schwöre, wenn das ein anderer ist- oh hello! who are you?” “Oh hi I’m Lila, are you Maria’s parents? I’m her friend” “oh yes of course! come in. she’s in her room right now”

and WIP of the 1st chapter

Everyone has their own favorite season. A lot of people say spring is the best season because the temperature and humidity is perfectly in the middle, but I beg to differ there is a much better middleground, & It's autumn. But not just because of the temperature or the crunchy leaves and glowing jack ‘o lanterns, but my friend.

Out on the coldest day of October, and of the darkest time of my life, I was walking to the woods to get some fresh air, the whole time so hunched and messy all over.
I stepped in a little too far and I started to panic a bit.
I was so lost I accidentally ran to the other side of the woods! Of course, I realized and I wanted to go back but I just sat there on a tree stump on the other side crying, I was hopeless. "See? Going outside was a bad idea! You thought you'd be perfectly fine but now look what you've done!" I thought to myself. But then out from this strange Field of grass, came a young girl like me with a crimson red and Indigo dress and curly ginger hair. Coming towards me with sorrow and worry on her face that I haven't seen in years.

"Oh my! Why are you crying? Are you hurt?" She sat on her knees beside the stump I was sitting on. "It's okay, just explain."

I took a moment to clear my sore throat and wiped my tears off of my reddish face. I said "I just wanted to take a walk and get some fresh air but now I'm lost! I-I don't even know how it happened it felt so fast!! Ohh why did I do that! I should have known that going out would never end well!" I gasped and covered my mouth. "I really said all of that?" I thought.

"Don't worry I'll get you back home!" She stood up and said "come on! Follow me!" She pulled me through a path with strong streams and maroon-red flowers and came to my home. I was so relieved and surprised how easily she helped me I hugged her tight. "Thank you so much! How could I ever forgive you, uh" "Maria. It's Maria" she replied. "Oh. I'm Lila! Thank you so much, Maria." "You're very welcomed, my friend!" "F-friend? Wait-" but before I could even finish my sentence, she was already deep in the mysterious woods.

And ever since I often wait to say hello and play with my friend. And every time it turns to Autumn,
I'm reminded of her.
